August 12 – Half way through the season last year, the New York Giants were short odds to repeat their 2007 Super Bowl Win. QB Eli Manning started to struggle finding his receivers and the off field behavioral issues including the infamous Plaxico Burress incident started the slide.

This season the Giants are expected to be better and are a serious contender for the Super Bowl title.

In the 2009 NFL Odds predictions and the 2010 Super Bowl predictions, most bookies have the Giants either send or third favourite to the New England Patriots. At Bodog.com sportsbook, oddsmakers believe the Patriots to be favorite at 7/2, with the Giants at 11/1, the Pittsburgh Steelers at 9/1and San Diego Chargers at 10/1 to win the 2010 Super Bowl XLIV.

New York’s big concern will be to find a WR who can replace Burress. Their running game was good last year, but the questions remains whether someone in the regular roster will step up. Having lost Derrick Wade to the Buccaneers it’ll be interesting to see if Ahmad Bradshaw can emulate Jacobs and put up similar numbers.
